Went fishing for the first time this weekend

Well to be completely honest we went twice. On Saturday there was an onshore gale and 8 feet waves pounding the beach. So we went to the pub instead.
On Monday it was really nice. Not too hot and sunny. Hopefully the rough weather would stir up some muck off the sea bed and attract some fish.
Tried it for 3 hours and didn't have one real bite. At least the new rod and reel work well together. I was getting around 100 yard casts into an on shore breeze.
