well that was the biggest purchase I have ever made
Bought a brand new Renault Clio yesterday.
As far as I can tell I got it for a good price too. It was between the Fiesta and the Clio. I think the Fiesta gives you better bells and whistles as standard but the Clio is a better car all round.
And the Fiesta is bleeding ugly. The new models have gone for the ugly bulging headlights trend and look really weird. I really liked the look of Fords when the "new edge" styling was at its peak with the Focus, Fiesta, Mondeo and Puma all having a really great look. Now Ford has moved onto a more conventional look they have ruined designs. All bulges and lumps instead of sleek likes and creases.
The Clio is a lot more restrained. And it seems to me to be a lot better to drive. The handling is great for a small car and there was plenty of poke. Admittedly I was test driving the go faster diesiel instead of the economy one I will be getting but there still should be something there for some fun.
